Vintage Victoria: Roberto Cavalli Spring 2006 Dress

It felt like eons since I did an Hermes du Jour post but that was nothing compared to the last time I did a Vintage Victoria one... since June to be exact! So I figured it was beyond overdue!

This look is one of my favorites of Victoria's past. She had such a love affair with Cavalli and each time she stepped out in a design she looked amazing! This spring 2006 dress and belt combo was worn to a Vogue party in July of 2006. Love!

This is the Flashback I was Referring To...

Except this time the skirt has extended a few inches and the boobage has calmed down a bit...

Blast From the Past

Since the World Cup has basically came and went now (especially with England being out of the running), I looked up a few of Victoria's looks from the last WC games and the results of my research were so different from the VB we all know and love today.

Back in 2005-2006, Victoria seemed to favor itty bitty ensembles that consisted of hot pant shorts and mini skirts that were about three inches long. And of course she wore her trademark high heels and at the time, cascading locks.

What a long way we've come!

Vintage Victoria: Christopher Kane Spring 2007 Dress

Way back when, Victoria Beckham stepped out with her hubby for dinner wearing this red Christopher Kane spring 2007 dress with an exposed pink zipper in the front. The fashionista modified the way she wore hers from the runway version and made it an off the shoulder look which I prefer much more. She paired the look with cute little red strappy sandals and her best accessory, her husband.

Meanwhile, most designers are very appreciative when celebrities wear their clothes... especially when Victoria does. But that can not be said for Christopher Kane who was less than thrilled to say the least:

"I couldn't do anything about it, to be honest. She wanted to borrow something, but I said no, so she went out and bought it. I've got nothing against her, but she's not the woman I imagine wearing my dresses. I think more of women like Carine Roitfeld because she's sexy and intelligent. Posh Spice doesn't even get a look-in.I don't want to sound presumptuous but I've worked too hard for my stuff to be seen on the front of the Sun newspaper."
How incredibly rude and mean! Girl can wear anything she damn well pleases there Mr. Kane... AND she put your runway model to shame looking a million times better in the dress!

Vintage Victoria: Lanvin Resort 2008 Dress & Christian Louboutin Lola Pumps

It's been months and months since I've done a Vintage Victoria post and since things over in VB land are extremely slow right now (thank goodness for David and the World Cup), I was going through a few things I saved in my Vintage folder and figured it was time to bring the feature back!
This Lanvin resort 2008 dress that Victoria wore to Beso with her parents back in July of 2008 is fabulous! It has a tulle-eqsue overlay on top of a simple LBD and it is tied with a ribbon around the waist and features a full length zipper in the back.
Victoria spiced up the dress (excuse the pun) with a fiery pair of Christian Louboutin Lola patent pumps. These pumps have a pointed toe and a gold metal heel.

Vintage Victoria: Chloe Tulip Hem Dress

I realized it's been quite a while since I've done a Vintage Victoria post and since things have been a tad slow, it seems as if it's time to do one.

Many of you probably remember this Chloe Tulip Hem dress because Victoria wore it to celebrate her 33rd birthday with her husband in Paris. David surprised Victoria and took her on a private jet to Paris for a day of shopping and dinner at Guy Savoy and a night at the Ritz Carlton. She wore this cute LBD for her birthday dinner with a pair of black tights and red YSL Tribute pumps.

Vintage Victoria: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2005

I haven't done a Vintage Victoria post in a while but after that Marc by Marc Jacobs dress yesterday, I felt the need to bring back the days of Dolce & Gabbana!

Now this I love! Even though it's a bit more revealing than what Victoria has been wearing recently, I can't help but adore this look. Back in 2005, Victoria Beckham wore this lovely lace Dolce & Gabbana spring 2005 creation for dinner at the Budha del Mar Restaurant in Madrid for David's birthday. She complimented her outfit with snakeskin sandals and a matching clutch. Her hair was free flowing and she had her usual sun kissed glow. Love this!

Vintage Victoria: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2003

Victoria Beckham wore this busy Dolce & Gabbana spring 2003 ensemble to the Theo Fennell party in London way back in 2002. Honestly, I didn't really love this one. It all seems a bit too much - although Gisele could pull off just about anything! Something about it just didn't sit well with me though. Any thoughts?

I remember this outfit mainly because of the necklace - it was the necklace that launced a thousand copies. I remember all of the accessory stores in the malls carried D&G replicas and nearly one out of every ten girls walking around had one on.

Vintage Victoria: Roberto Cavalli

Victoria Beckham wore this Roberto Cavalli long skirt with a citrus print from the spring 2005 collection to the launch party of the David Beckham Academy at Creative Artists Agency on June 3, 2005 in Beverly Hills, California. She paired the skirt with a silk bustier blouse, a long necklace, and wavy curls. Honestly, I don't know if this is what I would have wore to a launch party - it looks more suitable for a beach cover up just like the model wore it, but somehow, Victoria makes it work like only she can. She also has a Cavalli swimsuit with the same print that she wore on a vacation with David.

Vintage Victoria: Dolce & Gabbana

Now that I am thinking about the colorful pieces in Victoria Beckham's wardrobe, this lovely floral Dolce & Gabbana dress from the spring 2004 collection popped right into my mind! Victoria looked amazing in this dress when she attended the press night for the English National Ballet's performance of Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hal on June 9, 2004 in London. It was elegant and perfect for the occasion.

What I loved most was her hairstyle and how she kept her accessories to a minimal. Her single drop earrings were a wonderful compliment to her bare neck which really showcases the plunging neckline of the dress.

Vintage Victoria: Oscar De La Renta, Hermes, & Givenchy

This has to be one of my absolute favorite Victoria Beckham looks ever! She looked simply stunning in a fall 2007 emerald green Oscar De La Renta dress to the designer's spring 2008 fashion show on September 10, 2007 in New York. Her dress was a modified version from the runway and I'm so glad she wore it that way! The length was shortened to show off her fabulous legs and the vibrant green color really showcases her tan and blonde hair. And I love her added belt which accentuates her small waist line. Lovely!
.
And of course we all know that Mrs. Beckham is the best when it comes to accessorizing. She paired her dress with emerald dVb sunglasses, a pair of patent Givenchy D'orsay peep toe pumps, and carried a gorgeous Hermes Baccara crocodile clutch. The look is pure perfection from head to toe!

Vintage Victoria: Dolce & Gabbana

Since Victoria has been wearing a lot of black lately and her outfits are pretty safe, I figured for this Vintage Victoria post, I was going to search for something that was a little vampy with a fun mix of animal print and color - which is something we rarely ever see anymore. This Dolce & Gabbana spring 2005 ensemble has it all... flair, a bit of flirtatiousness, color, and wild prints. Victoria wore this out to dinner for David's birthday in Paris back in 2005. She certainly was the epitome of Spice in this outfit which was complete with a matching Dolce & Gabbana purse and embellished sandals. And I think her hair looks lovely!

Vintage Victoria: Valentino

Just in case you did not know, the Beckhams spent nearly a week in Italy for the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham definitely dressed for the occasion. Treating the cobblestone streets as her runway, Mrs. B emerged from the Hassler Hotel back in November 2006 in a lovely Valentino spring 2007 confection. I adored this look on Victoria... it's one of my absolute favorites. The dress is so glamorous and flirty and she paired it with Jimmy Choo gold slingbacks that complimented her tan. Going through all of these past photos in order to create a Vintage Victoria post really makes me miss her colorful and fun style more and more!

Vintage Victoria: Alexander McQueen

The sidewalk really used to be Victoria Beckham's runway as you can tell from the past Vintage Victoria posts. Oh how I miss it! Don't get me wrong, I love her and what she wears is always adorable but I miss the patterns and the colors! This fair isle sweater by Alexander McQueen does have elements of Victoria's basic black but at least it has some pizazz! I thought she looked adorable in this while departing Rome via Ciampino Airport way back in November 2006. This is very casual but still trendy.

Vintage Victoria: Azzedine Alaia

Since it's been extremely slow (news and photos wise) because the Beckhams are vacationing, I've decided to create another blog feature and it is called Vintage Victoria where I will post past outfits that she has worn.

For my first Vintage Victoria post, I found this incredible figure hugging red Azzedine Alaia dress Victoria wore in New York way back in September 2007 while leaving the Lowell hotel. Mrs. B accessorized with her over sized dVb sunglasses, nude Jimmy Choo Bale peep toe shoes (which really lengthened her legs), and carried her matching Hermes Kelly handbag. Seeing this photo really makes me miss the colorful side of VB's wardrobe even more!
