24 Hour Trend Alert: Thigh-High Slits

It seems that thigh’s the limit these days! In a span of 24 hours, at three very different fêtes, Carrie Underwood, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham dared to bare in the same revealing silhouette. Playing by the rules in Sin City, the country singer flashed her sinewy gams in a scarlet red beaded Edition by Georges Chakra gown, Coomi earrings and a metallic clutch and heels by Rene Caovilla at Monday’s American Country Awards. That same night in N.Y.C., Angelina flashed some leg in a winter white Atelier Versace wrap dress that highlighted her limbs and ample décolletage. The following evening, across the pond, Designer Brand of the Year nominee, Beckham, left little to the imagination in a slitted kimono gown of her design at the British Fashion Awards. We say, if you’ve got it flaunt it.

One of my Favorite Victoria Beckham Styles

I've been raving about menswear and how it's very sexy on a woman if worn correctly all week. Victoria Beckham is one of those people who looks drop dead gorgeous in this form of dress. Her black suit even made it my Look of the Week. I was thinking back and realized we have seen her in this style several times - each time lovelier than the next.

This is one of my all time favorites! How chic does she look?! She wore this lovely suit with a golden scarf and her aviators to the Chanel fashion show in Paris back in January 2007. I absolutely loved this look!

Victoria oozed sex appeal in this plunging suit whilst at the Roberto Cavalli fashion show with the rest of the Spice Girls back in January 2008.

This is another of my favorites - it even was one of my top ten Victoria looks for my first ever Victoria Beckham Style Awards. From head to toe I loved this! She wore this back in October during a dVb promotional event at Jade's department store in Germany.

This is the most recent outfit and I love it! I've been raving about it and posting about it all week. This is the latest VB Style Look of the Week.. need I say more- regular readers know how much I adore this!

Red Carpet Trends: Dolce & Gabbana Spring Dresses

Dolce and Gabbana is a household name for celebrities who are lucky enough to have their closets overflowing with the designer duo's lovely creations. Their Spring/summer 2009 collection was full of voluminous dresses including the one above Victoria Beckham wore whilst out to dinner in Milan. Victoria stuns in this dress and it looks as if it was made just for her.

Thanks to VB Style reader Natasha for informing me that Jessica Alba wore a similar D&G design to the launch of the Campari calendar in Milan in December.

Victoria's Latest Trademark Trend - D&G Headbands

Victoria Beckham is known to have many trademarks- her pout, a high heel obsession, an enviable Hermes collection, and over sized sunglasses.. just to name a few. Lately Victoria has added a new accessory to her trademark list - the Dolce & Gabbana headband. Mrs. Beckham famously chopped her hair into a cute pixie crop which was labeled the "Poxie". In recent photos, you can clearly tell that she is trying to grow her hair out- especially those photos from last night's Fendi party. In order to add a bit of chicness to growing out her hair, Victoria has been spotted wearing headbands lately - from simple black silk bands to rhinestone embroidered. I personally love them on her, even though some are tiring of them rather quickly. I think they look lovely!

Posh's School Teacher Style

What?? Victoria Beckham compares her style to that of a school teacher?! That's one Posh teacher if you ask me. She is a worldwide style icon, but Victoria Beckham has revealed an unlikely inspiration for her stylish look - the British school teacher. When asked if her image has changed since moving to LA, the fashion designer told Company magazine, "It hasn't, not at all. I am very British in my style. Think school teacher. I love pencil skirts and fitted blouses, classic cut dresses and well fitted jeans mixed with classic tailoring." Victoria also shocked the world this past summer when she was spotted in flip flops at Disney Land with her family and then several times after that. She also admitted to wearing no make-up in front of her husband David and her sons at home in Beverly Hills.

She said, "It's always good to know what suits you. Your signature style is whatever makes you feel happy, confident and sexy. Of course it's always good to mix things up every now and again too. Push the boundaries and evolve your style. Have fun, but be realistic. Don't follow the crowd." Victoria, who launched her own fashion line in September at New York Fashion Week, also revealed that her look is influenced more by old fashioned style rather than the latest trend. "The 1950s icons had such class. I love the glamour and sophisticated style of Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn," she said. -I don't know about you all but I definitely don't get school teacher out of Victoria Beckham!

Victoria's New Conservative Look

"Victoria Beckham appears to have learned from her style mistakes, now that she has turned fashion designer herself. And in fact she now blames her old wardrobe for the photos in which she appeared to be spilling out of her frock. But now the 34-year-old former Spice Girl who has launched her own collection of designer dresses says ill-fitting dresses exposing her bust are a thing of the past.

Mother of three Victoria says: 'I know how a dress should sit. I've worn so many in the past and when I see the photographs I think, crikey, my boobs are up round my neck again, because the corsets are too short and not cut high enough'.

Since launching the next phase of her career as a designer, Posh has moved away from the flesh-baring style she became known for to creating a line of frocks costing from £650 to £1,900. Gone are the blonde locks, cut-off denim hot-pants, and over-abundance of cleavage. And in its place she has relaunched herself as a Audrey Hepburn style clone, complete with gamine pixie haircut."

-I think so looks great both ways... this woman could get away with anything style-wise. But I do love her new look now because she's wearing designs from her new collection that are absolutely gorgeous!

Posh Sparks a Pixie Craze in Britain

The former pop star-turned-fashion icon debuted her new short-cropped look last month (Aug08) and it has already become the new must-have for the autumn (08). Top stylist Andrew Collinge admits his Selfridges salons in Manchester and London have been inundated with requests for the "Victoria Beckham Pixie Crop". A spokesman for the celebrated hair stylist says, "Many clients are bringing in actual newspaper clippings of Victoria just to make sure they get the right look."Collinge says, "Victoria Beckham has done it again. The Victoria Beckham cut is quite a change from the Posh bob, but it suits her perfectly. Most women can wear this style as it suits most face shapes."The secret is to keep the haircut very short and choppy, whilst keeping the edges textured and soft. A rich deep colour will give the style a fantastic shine and gloss as well as giving depth to those with finer hair."

I knew she'd do it again! Whatever Posh does, many are sure to follow suit! No to mention the craze she started with her last hair cut - that's proof enough! And besides, she is a trend setting style star!

VB Starts a new Hollywood Trend: Boyfriend Jeans

Victoria Beckham is responsible for kick starting yet another Hollywood trend. First is was her chic "Pob" that was copied by everyone from Jenny McCarthy to Paris Hilton. Now she has done it again with her baggy "Boyfriend" jeans. Victoria was first spotted in a pair of baggy jeans (from her soon to be menswear line of dVb denim) in Disneyland with her family. Since then, the trend has been snowballing creating a massive following. Katie Holmes, Sarah Jessica Parker, Heidi Klum, Reese Witherspoon, Rachel Bilson, and Jennifer Aniston have all been photographed wearing boyfriend jeans. The most recent is Jennifer Aniston who I think looks fabulous in her jeans. Katie Holmes is even attempting to start her own trend by rolling the bottoms (as you see Reese and Rachel doing). I love the trend - I think it's bold. Just goes to show you how much everyone loves VB's style and how much of a style icon and trendsetter she really is!
