Celebrities in VB: Kim Kardashian in VB Sunglasses

Kim Kardashian was recently in NY and while there, she had dinner with her friend Nicole Richie at Mr. Chow. To dinner, Kim wore the Metal Drop Temple sunglasses, model #Vb0022, from Victoria's fall 2010 eyewear collection. Kim surely loves her oversized frames and these look really good on her.

Who Wore it Better: Victoria or Kim Kardashian?

This Alexander McQueen optical illusion dress is from the designer's resort 2009 collection. Victoria was first to wear it nearly two years ago when she dined in Milan with David. She paired it with black patent Miu Miu Whipstitch pumps and a satin headband. Kim wore a longer version of the dress for a promotional photo shoot for her latest E! series Kourtney & Kim Take NY. Kim accessorized with a chunky bangle and black platform peeptoes.

So who wore it better, Victoria or Kim? For me, I much prefer Victoria's shorter length and I really liked the fact that it give the illusion of curves on VB's petite frame. Kim on the other hand is known for her curvaceous bod and I think this makes her hips appear a bit wider. It's not a bad look on her but I'd rather have Victoria's shorter version so VB wins for me.

Who Wore VB Better: Kim Kardashian or Giada DeLaurentiis?

Yes, you guys have seen this particular dress style several times before - 3 times (Victoria, Leighton Meester, Robin Antin) in the tan and lurex version, once (Eva Longoria) in the all tan version, and now twice (Kim Kardashian and Giada DeLaurentiis) in black.

Both Kim and Giada have been the only two celebrities to wear this dress in black. Kim wore it back in August to the InStyle awards and Giada wore it recently at the 5th Annual L'Oreal Women of Worth Awards. Both of the ladies paired the dress with black pumps.

So who wore it better... Kim or Giada? For me, I liked the dress on Kim but I love it on Giada. I love how it fits her small frame and I like that she wore her hair down and accessorized a bit.

Who Wore Brian Atwood Better: Victoria, Kim Kardashian, or Rachel Zoe?

The Brian Atwood RZ boots are one of my favorite pieces of the designer's fall 2010 collection. I love the simplistic front and the wow factor of the chain detailing in the back. Victoria and Rachel Zoe were first to wear them (it's fitting for Rachel to be one of those to debut them because she co designed them with Brian) and now Kim Kardashian has thrown herself into the mix... we all know that she's a girl who loves the latest it trend!

So who wore them better - Victoria, Kim, or Rachel? For me, I honestly can say that I like how they all wear them. Kim and Rachel spiced up rather simple black outfits with the boots and Victoria added a bit of extra pizazz when she was traveling.

Who Wore it Better: Victoria or Kim Kardashian?

These Christian Louboutin Altaboutin boots are one of my favorites from his fall 2010 collection. Typically, when I lust after a pair of shoes, as time goes by, they always pop up on Victoria. She was the first celebrity, that I can recall anyway, to wear these out and several, including Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera, soon followed.

Since then, of course Kim Kardashian has been spotted wearing them (honestly it seems like Kim is more or less style stalking VB lately). She wore them yesterday while out to lunch with Ciara in NYC.

So who wore them better? For me, even though I'm not a huge fan of cut-offs and boots, Victoria wins this hands down. It's too much leather on leather with Kim.

Celebrities in VB: Rosario Dawson & Kim Kardashian in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

Actress Rosario Dawson presented the award for "Best Fantasy Moive" onstage during Spike TV's "Scream 2010" at The Greek Theatre on October 16th in LA wearing a cream colored verison of the Fold Neck Fitted dress, #60, with Brian Atwood pumps. In my opinion, Rosario looks wonderful in the dress - it fit her perfectly and the color was perfection against her olive skin tone.

And it looks like Kim Kardashian bought that dress she taunted us with on her Twitter account. The TV personality wore the same dress (but in black) with black Brian Atwood pumps to The Ultimate Engagement Ring Search for The World's Best Couple launch at Brasserie Ruhlmann in New York City on October 18th. Unlike Rosario, I think Kim should've went with the next size up because it literally looks like she struggled to get it zipped - specifically if you look at the side shot. And I'm not saying that to be mean... those of you who are regular readers know that I've actually been appreciating Kim's style a bit more these days. I understand Victoria's designs are well known for their curve hugging silhouettes, but if Kim would've gotten this dress to properly fit her, I think this would've been a really great look.

Celebrities in VB: Kim Kardashian in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to present a photo of herself in what looks like a department store modeling the fold neck fitted dress, #60, from Victoria's fall 2010 line. She then went on to Tweet the designer herself:

"What do u think @vbfashionweek? Should I get this new FAB Victoria Beckham dress?"

I honestly hope she did purchase it (and something tells me she sure did!) because she really does look amazing in this body hugging design. Leave it to Kim to have such an enviable figure!

Kim Kardashian Praises Victoria Beckham and Follows in her Footsteps

Reality TV starlet Kim Kardashian loves Victoria Beckham's dresses. She said she often struggles to find outfits which flatter her curvaceous figure, but that VB's dresses are ideal for her shapely behind and busty frame.

"Victoria Beckham's totally my style icon. I wear her dresses constantly. There are some clothes out there I just can’t wear because of my body type. I definitely can’t wear short shorts! They’re not flattering! I also can’t wear anything too baggy, because being busty on top, looser fitting dresses almost make me look pregnant. I need to wear more fitted outfits. That’s why I love Victoria’s dresses so much - because they are so fitted and flattering for my body. I wear them all the time. I was so exited when Victoria Tweeted me. I’ve met her once. We have some friends in common, she’s very sweet.”

I don't know about you all but I only remember her in one VB dress... the black one photographed here that she wore to the InStyle party a few months ago.

Anyway, in other related news, it has been reported that Kim is following closely in Victoria's footsteps as far as Hermes bags are concerned. If you recall I did a post where I compared VB to KK and how I feel that Kim is often inspired by her and it looks like Victoria's Hermes collection is one of the main sources of inspiration.

It has been reported this week that while enjoying Europe with her mother, the duo stopped off in Paris where Kim dropped over $100,000 in an Hermes store. Apparently she bought 6 $10,000 Birkin bags and spent a whopping $30,000 on the orange over sized Kelly photographed above. Must be nice to be famous for no real reason and be getting paid astronomical amounts of money for it!

Style Inspiration...

After doing the recent post about Kim Kardashian wearing VB to the InStyle party, I couldn't help but think about all of the other times I've seen her out looking as if she's taken a bit of style inspiration from Victoria. So... I made a list of the various things the two of them have in common....

Example #1: The Bentleys
We all know that the Beckhams drive only the nicest automobiles and they love to customize them. For example, Victoria's Bentley Continental GT convertible is completely monogrammed with her initials... right down to the tires. After the Kim became a household name, her paycheck must have increased because she now drives the same Bentley as Victoria... and look at that - the same monogramming on the seats (except hers is a different color).

Example #2: The Range Rovers
Both the Beckhams and Kardashians are huge fans of Land Rover cars - especially the Range Rover. Victoria's newest addition to her car collection is a custom Range Rover Sport done completely in black. Kim also has a new addition to her collection - a Supercharged Range Rover... also done completely in black.

Example #3: The Hermes Birkin Collection
Out of all of the celebrities out there, if you mention Hermes (specifically a Birkin) one name is surely going to spring to mind - Victoria Beckham. Mrs. B has an enormous collection of the luxury handbags and it looks like Kim has jumped on the bandwagon as well. Kim now owns 4 Birkin bags.

Example #4: The Designer Shoe Addiction
Like any other girls, both Victoria and Kim are shoe addicts with a fine taste for high end designers. The two share several pairs in common (from L to R): Brian Atwood Maniac pumps, YSL Tribtoo pumps in both black and pale gray, Jil Sander D'Orsay pumps, Jimmy Choo Lance sandals, and finally the Fendi peep toes.

Example #5: Sunglasses

Kim and Victoria love their sunglasses and there seems to be one brand that they both adore - dVb. They both own the rose tinted aviators and the #3 pairs.

Example #6: Similar Styles

I've already mentioned my praise for Kim's street style ever since she's been working with Monica Rose... but I've also noticed that some of her outfits have a little Posh working.

Celebrities in dVb: Kim Kardashian in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

Now I have to admit, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Kardashians... some days I absolutely adore them and others not so much. But one thing I find is consistent is that I'm always interested in what they are wearing.. particularly Kim and Kourtney who are a bit more my style. I know Kim works with stylist Monica Rose and I can't help but say that ever since she's been working with her, Kim's street style is fabulous! I would definitely love to raid her closet!

With that being said, Kim hasn't always been a favorite of mine on the red carpet (unlike her street style, her red carpet looks are so so in my opinion) but she really got it right on Thursday night at the 9th annual InStyle summer soiree hosted by InStyle editor Ariel Foxman and the West Coast Editors in LA. To the event, she wore the lovely asymmetrical drape neck dress, #55, from Victoria's fall 2010 collection with the infamous YSL pumps. She really looked amazing! It hugs her in all the right places!

Yes I know she hops on the bandwagon of nearly every trend but there's not denying how fabulous she looks here!

It looks like Kim was channeling her inner Victoria with the tight pants, YSL Trib Two pumps, Birkin bag, and fur vest... top it off with the dVb sunglasses and she has herself a VB look! David in Denim at the Lakers Game

Hi everybody.. sorry about my absence these past few days. It's mid-semester so I've been swamped with midterms, projects, and registration for my final semester - needless to say, it's been a bit hectic but I'm back now!

David Beckham enjoyed a Lakers game on Tuesday. Becks was dressed in head to toe denim which is a different look for him. The game (which was against the Klippers) was a bit of a star studded event. David sat in a $2,200 seat on the floor and other celebs like Jack Nicholson, new Lakers WAG Khloe Kardashian and sis Kim, Sacha Baron Cohen, Nicky Hilton, Stephen Dorff, Heather Locklear, and Charlize Theron and her actor boyfriend Stuart Townsend were also in attendance.

Victoria & Kim Kardashian Have the Same Taste in Shoes

I have to admit that ever since the Kardashian bunch debuted their reality show on E!, I have been a sucker for it and I enjoy seeing their style - Kourtney and Kim more than Khloe as I love their dressy/casual approach to everything. I often check up on them (even debated doing another blog) and when I saw these photographs of Kim at Katsuya on Friday, I was drawn to her gorgeous Fendi suede pumps and started drooling! I actually loved her whole look that night - her style has transformed emensely since the days of BFFs with Paris Hilton and Herve Leger bandage dresses. Then, I saw this photo of Victoria at Barney's on the DailyMail and even though you can't see her feet, you can tell that she was wearing them too.. must've picked them up while shopping with Louise!

Even though I love Victoria, I completely adore Kim's outfit and the shoes were the icing on the cake! We've already seen VB's Alavoine dress three times now but I'm so glad she changed from the YSLs (even though I love them also, they can get boring at times).

Victoria's Jil Sander D'orsay Pumps

Victoria Beckham looked lovely today when she arrived at Heathrow with her family in a cute navy shift dress and a fabulous pair of Jil Sander D'orsay pumps. Walking around in heels all the time has certainly paid off - she has amazing legs!

Kim Kardashian is also a huge fan of these shoes and wears them quite often.

Who Wore J Brand Denim Better- Victoria or Kim Kardashian?

Kim Kardashian was first spotted in these distressed jeans in May when she arrived in Miami and then the same night for dinner. Victoria wore hers today in London. Who wore it better? Honestly, I have mixed feelings on this one because I love and hate things about each look. I love the rocker chic vibe you get from Kim. I love the vest, the bag, and the colorful top and scarf... but I hate the boots. On Victoria, I adore her Louboutin pumps and the fur but I hate the sequins and the head to toe black. If Victoria ditched the sequins and just had on a faux fur vest and maybe an aqua colored layered top, I think I would have loved it! What do you guys think?

Everyone is Trying to Poshify their Lives..

It seems like ever since the Beckhams moved all of their style and luxury with them to LA, the entire world is trying to be just like them. Even Kim Kardashian, who is usually driving around town in a white and pink Range Rover, is trying to Poshify her life. After being involved in a minor car accident with her black bentley, Kim recently got it back and it looks just like Victorias! Everything from the black grill to the headrests which are adorned with a red K.K. Victoria defintely started a trend even in her cars with these monogramed headrests. Looks like we have another case of Wannabe on our hands!

I like Victoria's headrests much better than Kim's. The red on the black is nice but overall I think Victoria's interior is much classier.
