Well, the World Cup qualifiers are over and we’ve finished top of the group, which is fantastic. Throughout the qualifiers I think the players have all performed brilliantly and to qualify with two games to go was great for the country as we could start thinking ahead to next year’s World Cup in South Africa. We were unfortunate against the Ukraine, having Robert Green sent off so early in the game made it difficult for the team, but last night against Belarus we gave the fans something to cheer about again.I was really happy to get on and play a part in the game, but I was really surprised and proud to be named man of the match. Whenever I get my chance I just try to play my best and last night was no different. Playing for England is an absolute honour for me as everyone knows. Everyone played well though, particularly in the second half and we could have scored more, but the win was all that counted. It meant that we finish top of the group and can now look ahead to next summer.I’m on my way back to LA now and the important matches keep coming as the Galaxy have a tough match against Houston Dynamo coming up. We’re top of the Western Conference at present and we’ve qualified for the playoffs but we want to finish strongly in our final two games and we’re confident that we can get the right results starting against Houston.
That’s all for now.
