David Beckham was the star of the show last night during the LA Galaxy vs FC Barcelona friendly. The stadium was packed as the Rose Bowl crowd of 93,137, the largest crowd to see a soccer game in the U.S. since the 1994 World Cup, gathered for the match. Unfortunately, the Galaxy suffered a loss 2-1 but I doubt anyone went home unhappy - especially not David! Beckham equalled the score in the 45th minute with an outstanding free kick goal! He lined up about 25 yards out and beat Barcelona goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto into the upper corner of the net. The crowd, which again booed Beckham every time he touched the ball, erupted in cheers. Hopefully this outstanding goal will silence some of the boos for a while!Congrats David!!!
