The home side had the better of the early exchanges and even had the ball in the net to the delight of their fans, but the linesman correctly noticed that striker Sergey Ostapenko was offside and the score remained level. England eventually got into their stride late in the first half with goals from Gareth Barry and Emile Heskey, doubling the score in the second half with a nice volley from Wayne Rooney and a penalty from Frank Lampard. David got in on the action too and received the biggest cheer of the night when he took to the pitch with 15 minutes remaining to help England record another victory, taking them ever closer to qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa."
