It was a very successful match for the England national team as they defeated Slovakia in a friendly match today at Wembley stadium 4-0. The goals were scored by Heskey, Rooney, and Lampard. David, who did not start, came on as a substitute in the 46th minute and successfully assisted Rooney's second goal with the help of Ashley Cole.
This game was also very historic for David because he now holds the record of 109 caps - the most by any outfield player. I'm sure he will do a lot of celebrating tonight with his family - Victoria and the couple's 3 sons were in the stands watching with excitement! Congratulations David!
