Last night, while I was watching the red carpet appearances at the Golden Globes and then the awards ceremony, I couldn't help but get a sense of deja vu when I saw January Jones in her show stopping red dress. I was thinking to myself, where have I seen this before, and then I remembered that Victoria wore something very similar back in 2005 to Elton John's wedding.
Is it just me or does January's Versace dress and Victoria's Cavalli bear striking similarities? Not necessarily from the runway pictures... but I can definitely see them when I look at the two stars dressed in red side by side! Does anyone else see this as well?
As I was looking at photos of the Clardiges dinner from a few nights ago, I couldn't help but think that both Tana and Louise drew a bit of style inspiration from Victoria's looks during Fashion Week when choosing their outfits. For example, Tana's black leather pants, Louboutins, white top, and blazer ensemble reminded me a lot of Victoria's outfit she wore to The View back in September. Louise's outfit, particularly her shirt, brings back memories of Victoria's rocker chic Isabel Marant look for dinner after her spring 2011 presentation.
These Christian Louboutin Altaboutin boots are one of my favorites from his fall 2010 collection. Typically, when I lust after a pair of shoes, as time goes by, they always pop up on Victoria. She was the first celebrity, that I can recall anyway, to wear these out and several, including Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera, soon followed.
Since then, of course Kim Kardashian has been spotted wearing them (honestly it seems like Kim is more or less style stalking VB lately). She wore them yesterday while out to lunch with Ciara in NYC.
So who wore them better? For me, even though I'm not a huge fan of cut-offs and boots, Victoria wins this hands down. It's too much leather on leather with Kim.
Reality TV starlet Kim Kardashian loves Victoria Beckham's dresses. She said she often struggles to find outfits which flatter her curvaceous figure, but that VB's dresses are ideal for her shapely behind and busty frame.
"Victoria Beckham's totally my style icon. I wear her dresses constantly. There are some clothes out there I just can’t wear because of my body type. I definitely can’t wear short shorts! They’re not flattering! I also can’t wear anything too baggy, because being busty on top, looser fitting dresses almost make me look pregnant. I need to wear more fitted outfits. That’s why I love Victoria’s dresses so much - because they are so fitted and flattering for my body. I wear them all the time. I was so exited when Victoria Tweeted me. I’ve met her once. We have some friends in common, she’s very sweet.”
I don't know about you all but I only remember her in one VB dress... the black one photographed here that she wore to the InStyle party a few months ago.
Anyway, in other related news, it has been reported that Kim is following closely in Victoria's footsteps as far as Hermes bags are concerned. If you recall I did a post where I compared VB to KK and how I feel that Kim is often inspired by her and it looks like Victoria's Hermes collection is one of the main sources of inspiration.
It has been reported this week that while enjoying Europe with her mother, the duo stopped off in Paris where Kim dropped over $100,000 in an Hermes store. Apparently she bought 6 $10,000 Birkin bags and spent a whopping $30,000 on the orange over sized Kelly photographed above. Must be nice to be famous for no real reason and be getting paid astronomical amounts of money for it!
After doing the recent post about Kim Kardashian wearing VB to the InStyle party, I couldn't help but think about all of the other times I've seen her out looking as if she's taken a bit of style inspiration from Victoria. So... I made a list of the various things the two of them have in common....
Example #1: The Bentleys We all know that the Beckhams drive only the nicest automobiles and they love to customize them. For example, Victoria's Bentley Continental GT convertible is completely monogrammed with her initials... right down to the tires. After the Kim became a household name, her paycheck must have increased because she now drives the same Bentley as Victoria... and look at that - the same monogramming on the seats (except hers is a different color).
Example #2: The Range Rovers Both the Beckhams and Kardashians are huge fans of Land Rover cars - especially the Range Rover. Victoria's newest addition to her car collection is a custom Range Rover Sport done completely in black. Kim also has a new addition to her collection - a Supercharged Range Rover... also done completely in black.
Example #3: The Hermes Birkin Collection Out of all of the celebrities out there, if you mention Hermes (specifically a Birkin) one name is surely going to spring to mind - Victoria Beckham. Mrs. B has an enormous collection of the luxury handbags and it looks like Kim has jumped on the bandwagon as well. Kim now owns 4 Birkin bags.
Example #4:The Designer Shoe Addiction Like any other girls, both Victoria and Kim are shoe addicts with a fine taste for high end designers. The two share several pairs in common (from L to R): Brian Atwood Maniac pumps, YSL Tribtoo pumps in both black and pale gray, Jil Sander D'Orsay pumps, Jimmy Choo Lance sandals, and finally the Fendi peep toes.
Example #5: Sunglasses
Kim and Victoria love their sunglasses and there seems to be one brand that they both adore - dVb. They both own the rose tinted aviators and the #3 pairs.
Example #6: Similar Styles
I've already mentioned my praise for Kim's street style ever since she's been working with Monica Rose... but I've also noticed that some of her outfits have a little Posh working.

The soon to be ex-Mrs. Ashley Cole was spotted arriving back home in London at Heathrow Airport a few days ago, after visiting LA, wearing an outfit that screamed Victoria to me. This ensemble immediately reminded me of the time Victoria, who arrived at Heathrow after departing LAX also, wore her Belstaff leather jacket paired with tights, a hat, sunglasses, heels, and a chic bag. Cheryl's jacket was Burberry, not Belstaff, but I can't help but feel a sense of deja vu when looking at the photos of her.
I must admit, I prefer Cherly's fabulous Louboutin studded bag to VB's Donna Karan. Love it!
For the latest issue of Heat magazine, glamour model Jodie Marsh got a Posh makeover. Jodie tried her best to pull off a Victoria Beckham ensemble which consisted of a black cardigan, gray dress, and VB's infamous YSL Trib Two pumps. She even carried a white handbag (to simulate Victoria's Valextra), wore over sized shades, and a gold wrist watch. If you look at these photos, even Jodie's hand positions and pout are strikingly similar.
The glamour model told Heat: "I love Posh's style. She's an individual. She creates fashion rather than follows it, and seems to be the first to wear everything. I'm honoured to be made to look like her, and I bet she's glad it's me, not Jordan, you've made over as her."

She seems to try to follow a bit in Victoria's footsteps with the Birkin bags, vast high heel shoe collection, etc. For example, Victoria recently was a guest on The View and she wore a self designed dress and her YSL flannel Trib Two pumps. Heidi, who guest co-hosted last week, tried to pull a Posh by wearing the same exact shoes. The only that was different was that Heidi wore a pair of jeans and a gray blazer.
We all know that Heidi Pratt has publicly stated how much she adores Victoria Beckham's style and it seems that lately she's been trying to add a little Posh into her own life- specifically her handbag collection. After realizing that Heidi carried the same Nancy Gonzalez clutch as Victoria last week, I searched a little bit and found out that Heidi has become a bit obsessed with Victoria's trademark handbag brand... Hermes.
Heidi's most recent Birkin is the lime green spotted above (also owned by VB) but she also has the same sky blue color that Victoria has.
Victoria's white Birkin bag is one of my favorites of her collection because it is a timeless color. Heidi's white Birkin was her first of that style before buying the blue and green.
Other than her 3 Birkin bags, the new Mrs. Spencer Pratt also owns two Kelly bags. This tan colored Kelly was her very first Hermes bag. I honestly nearly fell over when I saw her with this!
Her teal green Kelly is gorgeous and another reason I had to ask myself why? and how?! No matter how hard Heidi tries, Victoria will always be the Hermes queen! Although the day Heidi carries a diamond Himalayan Birkin bag is the day I quit!
Other than the Hermes bags, Heidi also owns the Valentino Glamorous tote that Victoria also owns in gray. I have to say I prefer the tan.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Victoria Beckham has made friends with some of Hollywood's brightest stars - one of them, who happens to be one of her BFF's now, is Eva Longoria. I'm sure you all have noticed that being friends with Victoria Beckham can definitely influence one's style. It happened with Katie Holmes and with Eva. Not long after becoming friends, Eva chopped her hair into a bob and even began wearing Victoria's clothing (which were gifts from VB - I'm amazed she hasn't been seen in a dress yet!). Eva is also one of my fave people and when I looked at her recent editorial and photo spread for Bazaar Singapore, I couldn't help but notice that it was alot like Victoria's Vogue Russia shoot. From the hair to the make up, choice of clothing, and even poses.. does any one else see it too?

As you all may already know, I am not the world's biggest Heidi Montag fan and it pains me to even refer to her as a celebrity or associate her with Victoria Beckham. Heidi has said a few times that she adores Mrs. B and it's easy to see that Heidi is slowing trying to morph into her a bit. She carries the same handbags (how???), started wearing heels everyday, and the list goes on. Here Heidi was seen around LA with her boyfriend/husband/fiance Spencer Pratt in a purple top, white dVb spring 2009 flare leg jeans, purple YSL Tribute sandals, and a blue Hermes Birkin bag - Victoria has the same one.
Victoria Beckham has a killer wardrobe - one that most women envy and would love to go through (I know I woudl). Of course Victoria's pieces are mostly all designer originals that were tailor made specifically for her. Unlike Victoria, who is working from a Beckham budget, most people do not have that luxury. I found a website that remakes tons of designer pieces - and a lot of Victoria ones. The site is called Diva Catwalk. Victoria's self designed Bidart dress from her debut Spring 2009 collection was one of my very favorites. Mrs. Beckham and Heidi Klum have both been spotted wearing this dress and it is a beautifully cut piece. Victoria was pretty in pink at the LA galaxy stadium for David's unveiling. VB was one of the first of many celebrities to wear this Roland Mouret Galaxy dress (very cutely named for the occasion) but no one came close to topping her in this pink version. Posh loser wannabe Chanelle Hayes has gone and done it again! I was looking for more photos from Armani and came past a link that said "Chanelle's Poxie" and I was like OMG please tell me this is not what I think it is! Sure enough, Chanelle has gone and chopped her hair just like Mrs. B, yet again! After swearing up and down that she coincidentally dyed her hair back brown because she doesn't want to destroy it's health (just mere days after Victoria did), and saying she was done with the whole Posh Wannabe thing, she pulls this! This girl needs to seek professional help ASAP- enough is enough! The cut isn't even flattering on her.
And we all thought the days of Posh wannabes like Chanelle Hayes were all said and done.. think again. Esther Adams (recognize that last name?) is a 31 year old mother who makes a living by impersonating Victoria Beckham. You all are probably saying the same thing I am... how? This woman, if you ask me, looks nothing like Victoria! Even though she's copied her dVb dress and hairstyle from the Fendi party and her Armani ads below. She said she first became aware that she had what Posh had while working as a dancer in a nightclub, "Customers started telling me how much I looked like Posh, and that I should become a lookalike. At the time, I was a single mum and struggling financially, so I contacted some agents and was soon being booked to open clubs and appear in magazines. I could earn between £18,000 and £20,000 a year." However, Esther's day job is not as easy as those of other celebrity impersonators. Esther receives negative comments about her weight - people insist she has an eating disorder, she's called 'Imposhter' on the streets, her children are teased in school, but she continues to do this 'job' because she insists it pays extremely well.
Esther appeared in a local paper opening a charity event - which led to a stream of abusive emails to the newspaper's website. One emailer wrote: 'Who does she think she is?' Another stated: 'She's a joker! She's a wannabe!' One person wrote: 'I knew she was starving herself to look like Posh, how sad. Does she not realise she looks hideous?' Mrs. Adams response to these comments was, "When I read the comments, I shook with anger. My friends were horrified when I told them about the grief I was getting over the job, but they encouraged me to stick at it. At first, I think people really thought I was Posh, but when they realised it was just me, they started shouting: "Imposhter! Who do you think you are?''' she said. "One woman threw a lit cigarette at me and it bounced off my jacket."
No offense to anybody but why do this? Victoria Beckham has been my role model since I was in eighth grade and the Spice Girls were at their peak. However, even though I admire her, I don't go around trying to be her. I think people in this world look at celebrities and think less of themselves. Some people even doubt their own self esteem. You shouldn't try to become someone your not - or even someone else- just to fill a void. Be yourselves everyone. Not only did Victoria Beckham debut a new spring fashion ad yesterday, former BFF Katie Holmes did as well and the photos have set the internet a buzz! Katie launched her Miu Miu spring 2009 ad yesterday and the makeup, hair, and pout are strikingly similar to Victoria's stunning Armani lingerie ads. The photos were each taken by the same talented team of Mert & Marcus. Do you see the similarities? Well Victoria's blows Katie's right out of the water and for reasons other than lingerie!
In the newest issue of Heat Magazine, several UK stars play comedic roles as they try and recreate photos of celebrities. Vina McCall and Claudia Winkleman became Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez at the most recent NY Fashion Week. Victoria Beckham was the talk of fashion week when she debuted her new Pixie cut hairdo and dress from her new dVb by Victoria Beckham Dress Collection. She famously outshown her fashionista BFF Jennifer Lopez. In the replica photo, McCall wears a wig while Winkleman stands behind her and drapes her hand over the Big Brother presenter's shoulder.
McCall said, "Oh my God. My cheekbones are raw from sucking in! I didn't know that pouting was this much hard work!" She also asked if she could keep the Pixie cut wig. "Channelling Posh is having a profound impact on me. I don't normally do all pouty and serious but I quite like it like this."
JLo impersonator Claudia added, "I wasn't feeling it until I put the wig on. Now I want to surround myself with diamonds and poodles. I definitely have a better bottom that JLo. Fact."
They don't necessarily look like Posh and JLo but they gave it a shot and the outcome was actually quite good! They even tried for the same outfits and accessories. The back drop was kept the same. Other UK stars tried to replicate Britney Spears, Zac Effron & Vanessa Hudgens, and Mark Croft & Kerry Katona. They really are quite funny- if you get a chance take a look!
Just call her the new Chanelle Hayes! Katie Holmes continues to immitate Victoria Beckham's classic style. Just recently, she has stepped out in 2 VB inspired outfits. While the Beckhams were in NYC, Victoria wore her all winter white ensemble. Just two days later, after Victoria had flown off to London, Katie was photographed with her daughter Suri in a blue version of Victoria's outfit. Notice how she even has the wide leg pants on! Victoria also caused quite a stir while at the airport when she arrived in a Stella McCartney felt coat, booties, a fedora, and her Hermes bag. Yesterday Katie was photographed in the city in a very similar version. Notice how she's even added a fedora cap. Also, Katie's new wardrobe staple is an Hermes Birkin handbag. We all know that Hermes is one brand Victoria can't live without. Danielle Lloyd of Celeb Big Brother, has copied Victoria Beckham by getting her own Hebrew tattoo down the back of her neck. The only difference is that Victoria's tattoo says, "I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine" while Danielle's says, "Only God can judge me." Evidently this tattoo idea springs from her rack of bad publicity. Even so, that is my favorite tattoo of Posh's. I think it's very ladylike and has an extreme amount of sex appeal to it.
