AprilMarin is a contemporary womens clothing designer focused on designing the old classics with a contemporary twist. AprilMarin aims to dress all women regardless of shape or size by offering custom sizing at an affordable price.
2. We have been seeing many online stores, but never costume made, How did this idea start?
As women ourselves we understand the importance of a perfect fit. We researched other womens custom clothing and realized there were no other contemporary clothing designers offering custom made garments.....and so AprilMarin was born.
3. Making the costumers choose the fabric and the coloring is a huge bonus, making costumers add a little personal touch, So do we consider April Marin a fashion designer or something like a professional tailor ?
All of the AprilMarin pieces are designed by the AprilMarin design team. We are fashion designers that are able to tailor our designs to your body. AprilMarin gives customers the options of submitting all of their measurements as well as picking their fabric and lining colors. Our customers really like choosing their colors as it makes the design to fit their individual style and personality.
4. Buyers get comfortable with easy labeling, you have added something extra than just labeling like calling each dress with a name like for example the Kristina ruffled dress, on what did you base these names on?
Since we are a new company we started naming our designs after women who were inspirational in our lives.....of course both of our mothers have a design named after them and then we have some really great friends, especially Kristina, who helped us tremendously along the way. Our most previous collection was named the Flower Collection and each piece reminds us of the flower it is named after in some way.
5. We have noticed that the collection is based in simple lines, why is that?
We design after classic icons like Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. These icons always wore clean lines, which gave them a simple elegance which is timeless and memorable. We like to add contemporary twists, like ruffle sleeves, or a peterpan collar to our simple clean lines. At AprilMarin we aim to design timeless pieces that can be worn season after season, year after year!
6. Do you intent on going Haute Couture?
For the moment we are concentrating on designing pieces for our website and making them to fit our customers. We have tons of customers who just don't fit perfectly into mass clothing and they really appreciate having clothing made for them.....of course we also appreciate their business and love making them look good and feel good. I can't tell you what the future will bring for AprilMarin, but I can tell you that we love what we are doing and with this type of passion only great things can happen.
7. What is your next project ? Or what do you aim for in the future?
We are in the process of making this phenomenal skirt that everyone will want in their closet. We are so excited about it because it is so different, but at the same time, classy and elegant. Our fall collection is in the process of being photographed and added to our website. We are also working with a manufacturer to mass produce a few items that don't need to be custom fit. This is such an exciting time for us and we are so thankful that we are able to do what we love and make people happy at the same time!
