Here is Holt Renfrew's latest interview with dVb designer Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham:
Holt Renfrew: What was the inspiration behind dVb by Victoria Beckham?
Victoria Beckham: I've always collected denim and I could never find a pair of jeans that fit me particularly well. As a woman, you want something that fits relatively tight on the leg but big enough on the waist. [dVb jeans] are incredibly simple and basic: you can wear them with flip-flops or heels.
HR: What's the most important element in creating jeans - fabric, fit, cut?
VB: Every detail must be taken into strong consideration when creating jeans. There's not a single button or rivet on them that I have not tested myself.
HR: What's the biggest mistake a woman can make when shopping for jeans?
VB: Buying them too tight! Especially around the waist when it creates that horrifying muffin top. That is just not stylish.
HR: Do you think fashion can transform how women feel?
VB: Sexiness comes from within; it's confidence. But fashion can definitely boost that confidence!
HR: Sunglasses are becoming as coveted as waiting-list ‘It Bags' - why do you think this is happening?
VB: Sunglasses are great accessories. If you have the right pair of sunglasses, you can make even the simplest outfit look stylish. I love sunglasses. I wear them all the time.
HR: If you could only choose one pair of sunglasses from your collection, which would it be?VB: I like all my sunglasses. My favourite at the moment are the red aviators but it changes all the time.
HR: What's your favourite styling trick for dressing up denim?
VB: A great vintage blazer or waistcoat, sometimes a little sweater or just a T-shirt. But always with high-heels and a pair of sunglasses.
HR: What was your biggest fashion moment?
VB: It's hard to pick just one particular moment because I enjoy nearly everything that has to do with fashion. Being a guest judge on Project Runway is definitely up there because it shows people how hard you have to work to be a designer. Posing for British Vogue was also one of the most remarkable fashion experiences.
HR: How do you manage to balance designing fashion with your family life and singing career?
VB: Family is my priority! I love working and being a Spice Girl and I wouldn't change that for the world but, at the end of the day, it is designing and fashion that I love most.
