Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Khalfan Al-Mansoori, head of the Emergency Department in Dubai Police, said: "It will be one of the biggest security operations for us. We are not worried because we are used to dealing with large events such as the Rugby Sevens tournament. There will be about 300 policemen from different departments providing full security before, during and after the match. We will have officers in uniform as well as undercover officers mingling with the fans. X-ray machines to detect explosive devices will also scan fans entering the ground and sniffer dogs will patrol the stadium."
The police chief said no specific threats had been received concerning Beckham's visit to the emirate. Beckham, who arrived in Dubai with his wife Victoria and three sons, has his own security team with him. Special security arrangements have also been put in place at the Park Hyatt hotel where the players are staying.
Al-Mansoori added: "We are securing the hotel and escorting the team while they go to train at the Al-Nasr Club. The players have personal security and we are working closely with them. Many fans will be attending the training sessions and we won't allow them to be very near the players."
They must be heavily protecting Victoria because we haven't seen her in days!!
