Sara and I have found out the reason as to why Victoria was in NYC last friday (and it had much more to do with her dress collection rather than visting Donna Karan and the MET).It turns out Victoria was in the city to do yet another pre-launch of her dress collection. She personally introduced her line at a VIP preview on Friday at luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman (that would explain her fabulous outfit- her dVb dress). The preview was held for a very intimate crowd of 65. Less than a week later, a Bergdorf representative confirmed that half the stock is sold out already! Her successful pre-launch in NYC follows her line's success in England where Selfridges sold out of her entire collection at both the London and Manchester locations in one day. "I don't have a doubt in my mind that these special pieces will sell out," Linda Fargo, who is Bergdorf's senior vice president of Fashion Office & Store Presentation. "Our gals still want the rare and hard-to-find pieces, and especially things that are so flattering and well made. They're sexy but elegant at the same time — a lethal combination for my money." Bergdorfs expects five or six additional styles when the global launch takes place in February.
